Our Manifesto

What we believe.

The principles that guide every decision we make when building Hably.

Hably is a system of control

Hably connects your information to your time. You are in complete control with it. We're aware that distractions and overwhelm are the enemy of quality output, so Hably is designed to help you focus on that one thing you need to work on right now. And what's next after that. It can be a simple task manager, or it can be a full life manager, you decide.

Hably has your back

Hably is designed to try and let you focus only on what matters today. It'll provide you with a visual overwhelm indicator (Planner) if it thinks you're trying to do too much. It's designed to aid a workflow that still sees you capture useful information and ideas, but allow you to park them for later, instead of right now (Pinboard) and it wants you to schedule everything in, so you know and others know when stuff is getting done (Planner). It doesn't have to be right now.

Hably is something you own, not rent

We're as frustrated as you are at the ever increasing subscription economy. Renting access to your own data and being at the mercy of the companies balance sheet. The Hably team believe you should be able to enjoy core product features by buying them once* and not being obliged to pay for anything periodically. We offer a generous free version of Hably and a one off cost for full Pro access. We do plan to offer added value features on subscription, but they're not core to the Hably experience. A subscription will exist only to fund an ongoing service that adds extra convenience and tangible value to your life.

The 8 Hably Commandments

That we followed when building Hably.

  1. Hably shall focus on a lifecycle of information collection, ideation and scheduling. Streamlined information ingest and productivity. Hably is a 'server for organising your life'.
  2. Hably shall help you to begin work with pinned notes, images, and web links, then help you plan the time to bring work together. Collect and control information input, schedule your plan of action, then execute on that plan to produce better quality outputs.
  3. Hably shall present a strong time based element to planning. Tasks, pins, routines and notes may all be scheduled via the planner.
  4. Hably isn't about stats. It's about the process of getting things done. Who cares whether you only did 2 things today? Did those 2 things matter? Stats won't tell you that.
  5. Hably shall be great value. No dumbing down of base features in order to push to paid. Paid is true value add.
  6. Hably shall be feature based with a simple start. A fresh install will begin with most features turned off. The experience can be as simple or as advanced as the user needs require.
  7. Hably shall lead to water. It will guide the user in first use with a short, to the point setup wizard.
  8. Hably will listen. Feedback submission is built right into the app.

Built for people who want to think clearly.
